    George bush (are retarded president)

  2. Heisenberg Says:

bush pissed off Opec so they raise their prices.

  3. TireBiter Says:

Gas has increased because of greed and food is increasing because the cost to transport it has gone up.

  4. NICOLE S Says:

Gas prices are increasing because the price of oil is going up. If you watch CNN every night they will give you complete details of the oil prices, they tell how much they were at the beginning of the day and what they are at the end of the day. The price is going up about $4-5 daily, which in turn makes the gas prices go up.

Food is delivered to stores by a truck, and when gas goes up it costs more in gas money for the truck to get to the store. So to make up for that profit loss they up the food costs.

    Hope that doesn’t sound confusing!

  5. Guess Who? Says:

Economics, and it’s going to get worse. Be prepared to see $6 a gallon for gas this time next year.

  6. Dave87gn Says:

    There are other factors, but

oil is traded in dollars, since our economy sucks, Bush lowers interest rates( puts more dollars in circulation) basically printing money. This lowers the value of the dollar, the more there are, the less theyre worth..As the US dollar drops, the oil companies want more of them for their oil.

now that gas is more expensive, that adds a surcharge onto getting good to the market. transportation cost= food costs and everything else goes up

Simple yet no one wants to admit it. Supply and Demand. The worlds second largest oil producing country is in a 4 year war that continues. You want gas prices to go down, unify Iraq so they can start producing. Food I think is just fallback off that problem and if you fix the gas, you fix food and our economy.

  8. itsjustme Says:

Food prices are increasing due to the increased use of ethanol as an automobile fuel. Gas prices are increasing due to the uncontrolable greed of the oil companies! They ALL have posted absolutely rediculously high net profits, for the past two years!

One would think that the feds would do something about this problem. I mean they went after Ma Bell and also Microsoft, with a vengence! Oh I forgot! 99.99% of all the politicians in DC are in bed with the oil companies. Damned that has to be a huge bed, huh?

george & his buddies are out to make as much off of everybody they can & people still vote republican. All they ever do is take from the middle class & give to the rich. It is so complicated that voters very seldom understand it. I will hear people explain things sometimes & I know they have all the education but no intuition. I am one of those that knows things, can’t explain how or why but I always end up right. I can smell a shunk a mile away & warn you but alot of people don’t believe things unless you can explain it. Those that know me listen to me. It has to do with coruption simple Bush, Cheny, Rove, McCain.

Everything is going up because people get greedy and when one thing goes up everything else does following a chain reaction. As an example one guy gets a raise at an oil company… the cost of a barrel of oil goes up… the cost of Gas goes up… since everyone needs gas to get to work the cost of everything at all the employers business goes up so they can pay their employees enough to buy their gas. To make it simple once one thing goes up everything else has to to make up the difference.

Gas prices are increasing because oil prices are increaseing. Oil prices are increasing because access to crude oil has become increasingly tricky. Regions that produce most of the world’s crude oil are unstable. Also there is an increse in demand all over the world for oil. The economies of developing countries such as India and China are growing rapidly. They need oil for automobiles and heavy industry, and this is putting a strain on the oil supply. Finally stricter EPA regulations have made oil refining more costly and less profitable for companies to do stateside so we do less of our own refining . Also, the recent hurricanes Rita and Katrina caused significant damage to United States oil refineries in the golf, and the oil industry still hasn’t recovered

  12. Dr.John L Says:

Inordinate profit making and lack of price controls

  13. Biddness Says:

Since the stock market isnt doing so well people tend to take money out of the differnt sectors and put it into real estate and commodities such as the gas and food you mentioned.

  14. Gary M Says:

Gas (oil): There are three factors I can think of: (1) The value of the dollar dopping means the prices of foreign goods rises. (2) The risk involved for those producing the commodity has increased (war zone, threats to refineries and logistics networks). (3) Speculators (seeing the value in the commodity linked to future risks) are driving the prices up.

Food: The decline of the dollar.

  15. Barbra Says:

It cost so much to ship the gas for all the vehicles and to delivery everything that we eat, wear, and everything that we are able to buy in all of the stores; all over the place. That is quite an expense.
If we used the gas as sparingly as possible and combined our trips to do our shopping; it would save on everything a little. If we could just be conservative and teach our family members to do the same; it would help us to have what we need with the least amount of cost.
Hopefully, we will get over this crisis soon. But, everybody needs to help.
We could also help by using so many things that we already have and not wasting things. Share with others who are in need.

  16. s7e7v7e7n7 Says:

The monopoly . I just wish they would look into other types of engin’s that run on air or water instead of making fuels to work in engines that only run on gas or diesel. What are the other engin designs they keep locked up because someone saw how they could ruin the fuel industry if they were mass produced.
