Shouldn’t I be in an honor’s class?

I’m in 8th grade this year, and today I just got my levels for high school (2 being lowest, 3 being average, and 4 being honors). So I see that I have all 3’s, which annoyed me. I had an A- last term in science, and an A this term, and it says on my soon-to-be high school’s website that in order to get into an honor’s science class, you need an A- or better currently. So I am confused. And I’m not the only person in my class who is upset with my class level. It’s not that I want to push myself, but this should be my true level. I always get 100%’s on the quizzes, and usually 90%’s-100%(80%’s at the lowest) on my tests. I always have my homework done, and my teacher even says that she loves how hard I try in her class(still science). So I am wondering, what do you think I should do, and whether or not you think I can do well/handle honor’s science (Microbiology 4).
- If my grade 8 science is so easy than why am I one of the only people with a grade higher than a C+ in my class
- I know that I may not seem like “honor’s material”, but I work extremely hard and always pay attention.
- iloveyouu & miss you:( <333; Thanks! I know, I'm actually kinda nervous about highschool ):
But I agree with you, the two people who were jerks need to shut up. I'm one of the like 3 people in my class who actually have an A in science (most get C's and D's), and I actually study and try hard. But Thanks!<3 (:
- It is a Public Highschool btw.

maybe the high school doesn’t think you are their honors material… call them up and ask why you aren’t in the honors class so you know what to do and improve on…

everyone in 8th grade thinks they’re more than qualified for high school honor courses.

middle school science courses are easy!

Often it is based on the teacher’s personal experience with you. Even if your grade would imply otherwise, the teacher might have a gut feeling about how you would do in honors. I would stick with what you have now and if you do well in regular in high school, then you can move up to honors.

Normally you have to get recommendations from your teachers to get into the honors program. It’d be best if you tried to ask them about it or maybe even the school counselor.
